Who Am I

God created man in His image and likeness; we are in God’s class of being meaning that we are spirit being because God is a Spirit. The spirit being is therefore, sensitive to God. Unfortunately, when man committed high treason against God, he became a partaker of the devil’s nature which is sinful.

When we are born again, we begin to now want to please God in what we do, and to do what God wants us to do.

1) I am a completely new person

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

This is what it means to be born again. When we accepted Jesus Christ as our savior, we are a new creation. The spirit is not renovated nor reformed but we are a completely new person; our spirits, which is on the inside of us, have been recreated!

2) I am under new authority

Romans 7:4 … you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.

3) I am totally accepted.

Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you.

4) I am not condemned.

Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus …

5) I am blessed with every spiritual blessing.

Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

6) I have authority in Christ over the enemy.

Paul prays that we may know “his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (Ephesians 1:19)

Christ has triumphed over all evil powers in the spiritual realm. He has conquered them. Not only has He conquered, but the power in which He conquered is available to us.

It is that same power that God exerted to raise Christ from the dead and seat him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.

7) I am victorious, and am more than a conqueror through Christ.

Romans 8:37 In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Do these 7 characteristics reflect how you view yourself? How you view yourself makes a big difference to how you live your life. Let us trust God’s Word and live our life accordingly.
