We are given a Helper
We are constantly faced with changes, challenges and uncertainties and God knows that. He assures us that we will not be abandoned and has arranged for us to have a Helper dwelling in us that is the Holy Spirit to help us and guide us whenever we need.
John 14:16-18 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— he Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you KNOW Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
As Jesus prepared his disciples for His inevitable departure, Jesus assured them that they will not be left as orphans but instead another “Helper” that is the Holy Spirit, will be there for them to guide them just as Jesus had done the three years he was ministering with His disciples.
God has prepared for His children on earth to have a helper. We are not meant to be abandoned amongst struggles and challenges of the earth.
Many of us are going through great struggles in our current times- the unstable economy, increasing market disruptions in all business sectors, competitive work environment, personal matters, etc. The Holy Spirit can help you! The Holy Spirit is a helper sent by our Father that dwells within us 24/7. We can choose to seek the Holy Spirit’s counsel whenever we want, because the Holy Spirit dwells within us and so knows what we go through every day.
The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Godhead of the Trinity. He is supposed to be active in our lives, in the life of the church – church services and cell groups. He is Omni-potent, omniscient and Omni-present. He is our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby and He may dwell in each of us forever if we accept Him, acknowledge and pursue Him, and allow Him to minister, comfort, counsel, intercede, advocate, strengthen, and standby us. The Holy Spirit can keep us accountable by convicting us of our sin, righteousness and judgement. He can lead us in our daily struggles through uncertain times.
Let us open our hearts, minds, and souls to the Holy Spirit. Let us seek the Holy Spirit to counsel and guide us so we may be confident in our walk in life amongst challenges and struggles, in Christ.
