Walking with God

Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5-6 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Enoch walked with God and his life pleased God. It was revealed to us in Hebrews that Enoch lived by faith in God and he had a life of testimony that pleased God. We can imagine that all that Enoch did was by faith in God, that he walked very closely with God. He probably told God all that he was going through and had faith that God was able to help him.

All of us desire to live a life that pleases God too, so how are we to relate to God, and how do we talk to Him?

God desires our fellowship. He is interested in our lives and desires to talk to us. He treats us as a friend whom we can confide in. In fact, He is the most interesting and loving person we will ever know. All of us have friends, but sometimes even our closest friends cannot help us due to their human limitations. God wants to be that kind of friend to us and more, because His love is greater than any kind of human love and He fully understands us. Like a friend, God will talk back to us, advise us, lead us, counsel us, admonish us, and tell us straight in the face that we are in the wrong.

In order to walk out this life of faith, we need to be conscious of “God in us”, “God for us” and “God with us”, because before something can be manifested in the natural, it must first be seen or happen in the spiritual realm. It is through faith that we believe that it will come to pass, so don’t look at the natural circumstances and allow them to steal the peace from your hearts, but have faith in God that He is there for us.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
