The Word of God

In a multi-religious world that we live in, it may seem difficult to really know God. Nevertheless, we need to know God before we can anchor our faith in Him. Unless, we are fully convinced about God and His love for us, then it is very difficult to anchor our faith in Him.

JOHN 1:1-3,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2He was in the beginning with God 3.All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made…….14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us

John denotes the essential Word of God, Jesus Christ, as the personal wisdom and power in union with God, ministering in creation and governing the universe, and is the cause of all the world’s life both physical and ethical, which for the procurement of man’s salvation put on human nature in the person of Jesus the Messiah, the second person in the Godhead, and shone forth conspicuously from His words and deeds.

Jesus is The Creative Word. Jesus was the energy behind the creation of the universe. He spoke and it was! In His ministry, Jesus spoke to the fig tree and it dried up from its roots, He spoke to the wind and the sea and they obeyed.

Mark 11:14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” And His disciples heard it.

Mark 4:39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

The Word of Jesus once spoken will not be hindered by time and space but will accomplished all that it is purposed to do. The Word will prosper because it carries the power of the Almighty God. The Word of God represents God Himself!

When we hold the Bible in our hands, we are holding the very written Word of God which contains life and spirit that can save us, sustain us and deliver us by giving us the grace and strength to go through any kind of circumstances. It is a revelation of God that provides us with a wonderful opportunity to come to know God intimately regarding some things that he will or will not do as God through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ because Jesus declared God!
