The Battle Has Been Won!

Ephesians 6:10-11 (NKJV) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

We should be strong in the Lord and not in ourselves because we cannot wage a spiritual battle with our physical bodies. We must all be prepared for the conflict and it should begin by knowing that we are seated with Christ. In order to fight and stand the ground well, we must first be secure about God’s love and acceptance.

Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV) and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

Once we know that we are seated in the heavenly places, we can stand before our foe in a position of victory and authority. The devil has been defeated and his rightful place is under the feet of Jesus. We are in Christ, which means part of His body and being in union of Him, and we are co-heirs with Christ. Therefore, the devil’s place is also under the feet of the body of Christ and every believer! The devil has no more power over us, and we are no longer in the kingdom of darkness but the Kingdom of light! We should enforce the victory from the position of being seated with Christ in the heavenly places, and stand against the devil.

Ephesians 1:22-23 (NKJV) And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Our task is one of holding and standing the ground. The devil has been defeated and the job of the church is to keep him defeated. He wants to deceive us, tempt us, create trials and tribulation so that he can steal the Word that has been sown into our hearts. He also wants us to give up and dismount from our position of victory and walk in the flesh again. Therefore, we need to know and watch out for the schemes, strategies, and deceits of the devil.

Romans 8:37 (NJKV) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

The Bible tells us that we are more than conquerors because Christ has won the victory. It is Christ’s victory that has enabled us to sit with Him at the right hand of God the Father, and it is because we did nothing to achieve the victory that we are more than conquerors. It is God’s perfect love that has placed us in that position. We are not trying to win the battle because the battle has already been won!
