Spiritual Position

Ephesians 1:19-23 And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Sometimes we are concerned about the attack from the devil when we serve or minister on behalf of the Lord. There is nothing to fear if we know whom we serve, the position that Christ holds and our spiritual position in Him. It gives us faith, boldness, confidence and increases the effectiveness of our ministry. Therefore, He gave us the power through the Holy Spirit and a position of victory when He asked us to go and preach the gospel. We will be ministering and sharing from a position of victory!

Jesus has been raised to a spiritual position in the heavenly places beside the Father, far above these demonic powers, principalities, might and dominion of this world. All these are under His feet, which is their current rightful position! Therefore, if the devil is under Jesus’ feet then the demons’ rightful position should be under our feet! Do not allow the devil to fool us to think in any other way.

The church is the body of Christ and Jesus is the head of the church. We need to know Christ’s position and our position in the spiritual realm when we minister on behalf of the Lord. We are not weaklings or Christians trying to use our own strength, wisdom or might to defeat the devil. We are to enforce the victory that Christ has won through His death, burial and resurrection including His name that has been given to the church to use in order to evangelize and take the land for Him. We pray from this position of victory, we preach from this position of victory and we minister from this position of victory!

The spiritual realm is real and we need to be alert about it. We need to know that we are fighting a spiritual battle whether it is evangelizing or protecting ourselves and our families against the attacks of the evil one! We need to know so that we will not be fearful when we minister or share the gospel.

Ephesians 2:6 And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus

This verse assures us of our position in Christ. As believers, we live in two worlds – the natural, physical world where our bodies live and the spiritual world of the Kingdom of Heaven where our spirit lives. Satan is the god of this physical world but we have spiritual authority, armor and weapons that will enable us to live free from his control. We can rule and reign in life by one, Christ Jesus.

Our physical bodies require natural things in order to continue to live on the earth, but spiritually we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That means we are spiritually far above all principalities, power, might and dominion.

In humility we should acknowledge the Word by taking our rightful position, which is a position beside Christ. We are made to sit beside Christ in the Heavenly places. He wants us to enforce the victory. We own this spiritual position that God has graciously given to us now!
