Sow And Reap!
2 Cor 9:6,10 (NKJV) But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. ……. supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
You will always receive back what you have given. It is a spiritual law. A faithful steward of God’s finances should not hoard the money but will be sensitive to what the Master wants him to give. Remember this biblical financial principle so that you will trust in the Lord and not in the world. He will provide us with more when we are proven faithful to be a good steward and and a minister of God’s finances. We are the body of Christ and the Holy Spirit lives in us. He will prompt us to do something on His behalf. Then, God will supply and multiply to us after we have faithfully sown into those areas that He has instructed us.
Luke 6:38 (NKJV) Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
Proverbs 11:24-25 (NKJV) There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
God will multiply the seed that we have sown so that we can keep giving to different causes. It is an act of righteousness when we give according to how the Lord leads us. It can be for mission, for the poor and needy or for anything that He has placed in our heart. It is a test of obedience, stewardship, and faithfulness whenever the Lord prompts us to give. If we are not faithful with the little then why should God entrust us with more!
God loves when we bless other people, especially the poor. It is never God’s will for anyone to be in lack. There was no lack in the Garden of Eden. Similarly, the Israelites had no lack while walking in the wilderness. There was no lack in the Promised Land.
Proverbs 19:17 (NKJV) He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, And He will pay back what he has given.
Proverbs 28:27a (NKJV) He who gives to the poor will not lack.
Truly we are lending to the Lord when we give to the poor because God’s heart is for them. We must be able to see that we are the stewards of God’s money and the Good Samaritans whom God has placed on this earth. He would want us to do what He would have done if Jesus was still walking on Earth today. One of the reasons why many churches are not giving more than ten percent to missions is due to the lack of finances. One of the reasons why the church has the lack of finances is the fear of man and the lack of teaching on tithing and free will offering.
There will certainly be many occasions when the Lord impresses upon our hearts to give to specific needs or to certain people in church who need financial assistance. It is a lifestyle of giving. What you sow, you will reap. God has promised to take care of us. We do not have to go around looking and thinking how the supply and the multiplication will come. If we are obedient to God’s Word, He is good and powerful to supply all our needs abundantly.
