The Untapped Talent

Main Passage: Matthew 25:14-30
His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Matthew 25:23 (NKJV)
- “If you have 24 hrs to do anything you want (without any financial constraints), what would you do?”. Share your thoughts. In the Parable of the Talents, we learn about stewardship. If you are the servant’s master, would you have treated the servants differently? Why? What does The Parable of the Talents teach us about stewardship?
(Col 3:23; Matt 6:19-21; Pro 3:9-10, 11:24-25; 1 Cor 4:1-2; Eph 3:2; Mk 4:25) - Why is it so important to stay alert and watchful in our days ahead? What happen when we fail to do so? Everyone is given a measure of talent, have you discovered yours? What are they? How are you using it in the church, home, and work? How can you grow and multiply your talent?
(1 Thess 5:6-11; 2 Tim 4:5; Rev 3:2; 1 Pet 5:8; Lk 6:38; 1 Chron 29:5; Rom 12:5-8) - “You must give God something to work with. Even though you may feel like you don’t have much to give to God, give it anyway. He doesn’t need much” (Gary Brothers). What’s your thought on this statement? Are you responsible in your stewardship of the talents that God has given to you? What are some resources you can use to glorify God? What reward awaits us when we use our talent responsibly? If Jesus returns today, are you ready to meet Him? Why or why not?
