Main Passage: 2 Cor 8:3-5 (ESV), 2 Timothy 2:2 (NLT)

You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.
2 Timothy 2:2 (NLT)

  1. What motivates you? Do you need some push factors to do certain tasks? Are you internally motivated? In what way? Are you a self-starter? Have you ever challenged to go the extra miles for someone as mentioned in Matt 5:41? What happened and what lessons did you learn in the process?
    (Lk 16:10; 1 Cor 15:58; Rom 12:6; Heb 10:24-25; Phil 4:13; Col 3:23-24; Jas 1:3)
  2. Are you attentive and observant? Do you listen more or talk more? In James 1:19, we are to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. What do you understand by this proverbial saying? How can you apply this principle in your daily life? Share 1 actionable step in enhancing your communication with others.
    (Pro 13:3, 15:1, 19:11, 29:20; Eccl 7:9; 1 Cor 9:22-23; Jas 1:19-20)
  3. D. L Moody said, “I’d rather get ten men to do the job than to do the job of ten men.” Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not? How important is the effort spent between doing ministry and developing others for ministry? Are you concerned about developing people or are you more concerned about getting the tasks done? What are some obstacles to delegating and developing others in ministry? What are some specific ways you can do to develop and equip others for ministry?
    (Pro 9:10-12; 1 Cor 4:16-17; 1 Pet 4:10; 2 Tim 2:2, Rom 12:6-8)
