Main Passage: 1 Cor 12:28-13:1-13

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

  1. Paul introduced the way of love in 1 Cor 12:31. What is your understanding of this way of love? In your opinion, why do you think it is more important than the spiritual gifts? Have you already experienced or seen this truth affecting your life? In what ways?
    (Gal 5:5-6, 22-23; 1 Cor. 8:1, 12:1; Col 1:3–5)
  2. In 1 Cor 13:4-7 “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all thing.” Out of the 7 qualities of love, which aspects resonate with you most? Why? Which of these qualities do you find it hard to practice consistently?
    (Col 3:12–17; Eph. 4:16; 1 John 3:18; 2 Cor. 4:18, 1 Cor 16:14; Rom 12:10)
  3. Do you find it hard to love someone who irritates and annoys you? How can we develop our language of love? Is it easy to exercise these qualities of love in our homes, offices, school and church? In what way can we build these qualities of love in our daily walk, serving the body of Christ?
    (Rom 8:5-14; Gal 5:22-23; Romans 5:2-5; Eph 4:2–5)
