Rising Above
Message by Ps Carol Koh, 7 Jan 2024, 10am service
Main Passage: Isaiah 43:1-11
I, yes I, am the LORD, and there
is no other Savior.
Isa 43:11
- What did the passage in Isa 42:1-11 say about fear? Is it normal for us to experience fear? What are some fears that people encounter? What is God speaking to you regarding fear? What are God’s assurances and promises to us as we step into 2024?
(Pro 1:7, 9:10, 10:27, 14:27, 19:23, Ps 111:10, 2 Chron 19:9, Job 28:28) - What is your understanding on the 3 kinds of fear? Have you experienced any of them? Which of the 3 fears resonate with you personally? What happened? Why do we need to rise above our fears? Can we overcome fear? What must we do to overcome fear?
(Ps 34:9, 103:11-13, 112:1, 128:1-2; 2 Tim 1:7; Isa 41:10; 1 John 4:18-19) - Prov 1:7 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Why do you think people struggle to have the fear of God? Should we fear God more than the fear of man? Why? How do we exercise the fear of God in our daily walk?
(Heb 12:28-29, Ex 1:21; Eccl 12:13; Pro 15:33, 25:12-13, 31:19; Ps 34:7-9; Ps 25:12, 33:18, 145:19)
