Main Passage: Philippians 4:4-9
- Discuss the general background of Philippians. Review the issues that Paul addresses in the letter and see if you can see a modern equivalent of these issues that you and your church may be facing today.
- Why is the command “rejoice in the Lord always” actually possible? Discuss verse 5 “Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” – your moments of success and setback in living out this command.
- Are you surprised by Robert Leahy’s study that only 3% of our worries eventually happen. Try to recall your worries in the last 4 weeks and check if this (3%) is true for you. Discuss the “what”, “when” and “how” Paul teaches us on not to worry. Why is thanksgiving important in prayer?
- Share examples/testimonies on how you have used Philippians 4:8 as your thought filters during the week.
- Why transforming head knowledge into faith knowledge is important. Share your experience of God’s presence as you put your knowledge into action through faith.
