Perspective and Priorities
Message by Ps Carol Koh, 5 May 2024, 10am service
Main Passage: Ephesians 4:2-6
”Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.”
Ephesians 4:2-3 (NLT)
- What are the 3 important priorities we must have as supportive ministers? How can these priorities help in carrying out the work of the ministry? Have your priorities changed over time? Why?
(Matt 6:21, 33; 1 Jn 2:17; Rom 14:18-19; Pro 2:2-5, 15:33, 27:17; Eph 5:21) - How are you serving the purpose of God in what you are doing? Are you focusing on the purpose of God or on people? Do you know your pastor’s values, priorities, convictions? What are they? What can you do to support your pastor towards the purpose of God?
(Ps 119:36-37; Phi 2:20-21; 1 Tim 5:25; Col 2:2;1 Pet 4:10; Rom 12:10; 2 Tim 2:3-4) - Do you respect the office of the pastor and the position of other leaders? How do you keep yourself from slipping into areas of excessive familiarity? Have you ever become critical of a pastor/leader and found fault with their shortcomings? What does the phase ‘Deficient by Design’ mean?
(Mk 6:3-5; 1 Pet 2:17, 5:5; Rom 13:1; Phi 2:3; Pro 19:11, 22:4; Rom 13:1-2, Col 3:13-14)
