Main Passage: Romans 12:1-2,11-13; 2 Corinthians 3:18
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (NLT)
- According to Cooke, “Ministry is not about titles and positions, and not about recognition and prestige.” How can you demonstrate a servant’s heart or attitude in serving others? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done? Do you serve others well? In what ways do you ‘wash the feet’ of others?
(Pro 14:35; Ps 119:125; Jn 13:14-15; Mk 10:44-45; Phi 2:3-8; Matt 20:26-28, 2 Cor 3:8) - What do you understand by “not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord…?” (Rom 12:11). What does fervent zeal mean to you? How can you develop your zeal in Christ? What motivates you to work more diligently at work and in church? Do you think it is important to be energetic and enthusiastic in everything you do? How can you infuse your work for the Lord with energy and enthusiasm?
(Ecc 9:10; Neh 4:6; Ps 51:12; Pro 22:29; Ja 5:16-17; 2 Jn 1:8; Eph 6:7; Acts 20:19) - Having a proper balance in life is a vital key to being physically and emotionally healthy and to experience longevity in the ministry. Do you have a healthy balance between the 4 areas of life: worship, work, rest & play? Are you overdoing it in some areas? Which area needs more attention? How do you get your recharge from the Lord? In what ways?
