Main Passage: Isaiah 9:6-7
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
- When you think about Christmas, what comes to mind? According to Isaiah 9:6-7, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Are you able to relate to Him as the Peace Giver? In what way have you experienced the peace of God? What happened when there is an absence of peace?
(Luke 1:79, 2:29, 2:8-10; Luke 24:36; John 20:19, 21, 26; Lv 26:6; 1 Kgs 2:33; Ps 29:11; Mal 2:5; Nm 25:12; Isa 9:6; Mic 5:5) - Peace with God distinguishes our faith from others. Do you agree? Share your thoughts. Why do you think Christians are not experiencing the peace despite knowing the truths? Peace with God changes our perspectives in life, what are those? What must we do to receive the peace with God?
(Jn 14:6, Rom 3:23, 5:1-2, 6:23; Col 1:20-22; Phil. 4:9; 1 Thess. 5:23; Heb. 13:20; Is 48:17-19) - Peace of God is a divine gift, granted by God. Why is having this peace of God important in the life of a believer? How can we experience the kind of peace that Jesus refers to in John 14:27? What would you do differently to walk in the peace of God daily?
