Revelation Through the Spirit of God

1 Cor 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

The natural man who operates solely with his mind will not be able to accept or understand nor discern the things of the Spirit of God. Therefore, the mind if it is not renewed is a hindrance for us to know God in a deeper manner.

Romans 8:14-15 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

The Spirit realm is important because it is where God operates and it is meant for eternity whereas the natural or earthly realm is temporal. The Holy Spirit will lead us through our inner man.

Ephesians 1:17-19 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,

When our mind is renewed with the Word then we will have the mind of Christ and we will look and understand the things of the Spirit from the perspective of God rather than from the natural man.

The Spirit of wisdom will teach and instruct us what to do with God’s directives and He will reveal to us the ways of God and His love for the church.

The moment that we are saved, our spirit man is a new creation and we are restored to be sensitive to the Spirit of God. However, sin dulls us from being sensitive to Him and therefore, if we want the Spirit of Wisdom to teach us, let us put away sin in our lives and have the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse our conscience.
