Peace of God
We have the peace of God that transcends all understanding when we cast our cares unto Him.
Philippians 4:6-8 (NKJV) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus…..—meditate on these things.
It is very normal to be anxious when we are faced with an unseen enemy like the coronavirus, especially when we begin to read that it can be spread from human to human through the eyes, nose and it is in vapor form. It doesn’t help if we keep reading all the bad news from different parts of the world. Fear is meditating on the bad news and thinking of the unknown possibilities. However, we need to arrest this fear and anxiety that is brought about by all the bad reports and fake news!
The Bible teaches us to cast ALL our cares upon Him through prayer because He cares for us. We will experience perfect peace if we are to fix our eyes on the Lord and to meditate on His word.
We allow the peace that transcends all understanding to guard our heart and mind in Christ Jesus by meditating on what is true, noble and praiseworthy.
Example: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for solving and dealing with the sin issue that separated us from you through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful that I have peace with you now. I am a child of God. I am accepted in the beloved. I will learn to be still and know that you are God. You are the creator of heaven and earth. Nothing catches you by surprise because you are an omniscient God. Thank you that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I cast all my cares about this coronavirus outbreak into your hands and I refused to be fearful of it. I stand on Psalms 91. I take refuge in you and trust in your protection therefore no pestilence will come near my dwelling nor around me in my coming in and going out. Thank you that you have built a hedge of protection around me. Romans 8 says nothing shall separate me from your love neither pestilence, sickness, illness, danger, nakedness, nor things to come. I have a covenant with you through the blood of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful that protection is part of the covenant rights. Jeremiah 32 say that you are the God of all flesh and there is nothing too difficult for you. You are indeed the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God. You have placed the Holy Spirit in me therefore you are with me wherever I go.
We can keep the peace of God through meditating on the word of truth.
