Overcoming the Perfect Storm
Mark 4:40 (NKJV) But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
Jesus expected the disciples to have faith in His word which is “let us cross over to the other side”. Jesus has the same kind of expectation of us, but the challenge is many people have not really taken time to listen to His instruction specifically regarding the will for their lives. Thus, we cannot be asking God, “Don’t you care?” over certain matters if He has not been the one who has instructed us to do it.
Remember the faith of the Centurion who asked Jesus to just say the word and His servant will be healed. Jesus mentioned that He had never seen such GREAT FAITH not even in Israel. The Centurion believed in the power of the spoken word by the Son of God, because it carries authority to perform what was spoken. Likewise, the disciples could also have just taken Jesus’ word for it. Therefore, one should put faith in the word that God has promised us personally because it is His Word that is given to us which gives substance to our faith. The KEY is to seek God to give us a word during the consecration prayer and the reading of His word to have our faith anchor in it as we walk out His will for our lives.
1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV) Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
Confidence and Faith are synonymous, because it is believing in the character of God to honor what He has promised that led us in our decision making.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Therefore, faith is produced the moment we are confident that we have a gotten a word from God through a book, chapter and verse that He has spoken to us personally regarding His plan and purpose for us.
If you have consecrated your life to God and are walking in His will, then this crisis is temporal. We are not moved nor shaken by the crisis or circumstances because all these will pass in due time but the promises of God still stand although we do not see it yet. Faith is built on what He has spoken to us and we believe, although we have not seen it manifested in the natural yet. We are confident that He hears our prayers whenever we meet a crisis during the process of walking out His will for us. We petition for His help during a crisis while walking in His perfect will for us.
Therefore, if you have sought the face of God and are certain that you are walking in the perfect will of God, then stand firm in your faith and press on! You will have the breakthrough despite the current crisis because the perfect storm will not last forever!
