Love the Lord Your God with All Your heart, Soul, and Mind
Matt 22:37-38 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment.
When we talk about loving God with all our heart, mind and soul, it means: “God, I want everything you have in stored for me, and I will do whatever you need me to do for you!”
Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground
So to have the person of the Holy Spirit living in us, is to be led “on level ground” – which is to be led to do the right thing! The Holy Spirit living in us is to have a helper that is not just for personal help but also to allow Him to minister us, and to help us love Him. Having the Holy Spirit in our heart means that in conjunction with the Holy Spirit, we can love God “with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” which is “level ground” and “the right thing” because it is the first and great commandment. We can be directed by the Holy Spirit to have everything that is in stored for us and be courageous to do whatever we need to do for God.
So, let us welcome the study of the Holy Spirit. Especially if our desire is for the body to be united and at the same time walk with the Holy Spirit in our lives. Let’s grow spiritually because we will grow spiritually when we are able to achieve unity with the Holy Spirit, and even better with support from studying the word of the bible because the word of God is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17)
Sometimes we cannot fully understand the work and person of the Holy Spirit because the human mind struggles with the fact that the Holy Spirit is invisible. It takes faith and humility to believe in the word when it comes to the things, including works of the Holy Spirit.
But let us be encouraged because praise the Lord! The Holy Spirit is holy, full of love, compassionate, and righteous. And He loves us. Let us start by realizing the “first and great commandment” of loving God and welcoming the Holy Spirit into our hearts for the Holy Spirit to guide us in loving God.
