I Choose to Believe

Luke 6:48 (NKJV) He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.

We need to remember to build the foundation on the rock especially regarding what Jesus has done for us. We need to anchor ourselves on the truth that God is good no matter what we are going through.

• God took the initiative by choosing to send Jesus to be a propitiation for our sins while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8).
• God made Jesus who knew no sins to become sin for us on the cross of Calvary so that we can have His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).
• God made Jesus to receive all the curse of the law upon Himself for us because none of us can fulfil the law due to the weakness of our flesh (Galatians 3:13).
• He has redeemed us by the shedding of His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7).
• Jesus’ death has brought about our peace with God (Romans 5:1).
• God has taken the initiative to bless us with all the spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).
• God does not see us based on who we are but who we are in Christ. We are hidden in Christ. God is well-pleased with us and longs to fellowship with us through the restored relationship.
• Nothing will separate us from His love whether now or in the time to come (Romans 8).
• He has established an everlasting covenant with us through the blood of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 13:20) and has promised to never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).
• There is nothing evil in heaven because God is just, holy and righteous. He is the Father of lights.
• God has good thoughts, plans and purposes for us (Jeremiah 29:11), thoughts of peace and not of evil to give us a future and an expected end.
• He is a God who gives us good and perfect gifts and does not change like a shifting shadow (James 1:16-17).

We have done absolutely nothing to deserve our position. It is given to us purely by the abundance of God’s grace. God has also given us the Holy Spirit to enable us to walk in the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus to have victory over the law of sin and death. He has given us to be partakers of His nature so that we can escape the corruption of this world. Everything that He did for us is good!

These truths will help us to be resilient in our faith and finish the race, so why don’t you say to Him today, “God, I don’t understand the suffering that I am going through right now, but I am choosing to believe that you are absolutely good all the time!”
