Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

As parents, we always desire to spend time with our children, regardless of their marital status or age, and we are more than happy to offer them counsel and wisdom whenever they have a need. If we, as earthly parents, have such a strong desire to be close to our children, how much more does our Heavenly Father desire to spend time with us and share His wisdom and insight with us when we seek His opinion?

Hebrews 10:22 (NKJV) let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

The book of Hebrews encourages us to draw near to God with a true heart and full assurance of faith. We can approach God confidently because we have been forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ. Our sins and lawless deeds are no longer remembered by God, and our conscience is clean and pure because of His sacrifice.

James 4:8a (NKJV) Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

God is always ready and waiting for us to come to Him. We should not be afraid to approach Him because we have been made righteous in Christ and have been given the position of sonship. We can be assured that we will be well-received by our Heavenly Father because of what Jesus has accomplished for us. We need to have childlike faith and run to our Heavenly Father with open arms, expecting a warm embrace. He desires a close relationship with us and wants us to seek His guidance and wisdom in all areas of our lives.

However, some of us may be afraid or hesitant to approach God. We may feel unworthy or ashamed of our past mistakes and sins, but we must remember that God has already forgiven us, and we have been made clean and pure through the blood of Jesus. We should not allow our past sins to torment us anymore because they are all under the blood of Jesus.

We can approach God boldly and with confidence because of what Jesus has done for us. Therefore, we need not let fear or doubt hold us back from drawing near to our Heavenly Father. We can come to Him any time and expect Him to listen and respond to our prayers.

God desires to walk with us daily, and He has given us four safety nets when we seek Him for the important decisions in our lives, which are the Word of God , the inner witness of the Holy Spirit, godly counsel, and dreams and visions. However, we need to cultivate the spiritual habit of drawing away from the crowd to be silent before Him, and as we dwell in His presence daily to seek His face, He will grant us His wisdom to live out His will for our lives.
