Growing the Church with our Spiritual Gifts

God will grant us the GRACE to operate in the spiritual gifts that He has given us. The grace is the ability to do something for Him without struggling, complaining and the ease to carry it out.

1 Peter 4:9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

The gift of hospitality enables certain members of the Body of Christ to provide an open house and warm welcome for those in need of food and lodging. Not only do those with the gift have the skills to offer warm hospitality, but they also love to do it.

1 Corinthians 12:28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

“The gift of administration is the special ability to understand clearly the immediate and long¬ range goals of a particular unit of the Body and to devise and execute effective plans for the accomplishment of those goals”.

The gift of helps is the special ability that God gives to certain members of the Body of Christ to invest the talents they have in the life and ministry of other members of the Body, thus enabling those people to increase the effectiveness of their own spiritual gifts.

Romans 12:7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;

God gives certain members of the Body of Christ the special ability to identify the unmet needs involved in a task related to God’s work, and to make use of available resources to meet those needs and help accomplish the desired goals. This is the gift of service/ministry.

Luke 10:33-34 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

People who have the gift of mercy feel genuine empathy and compassion for individuals, both Christian and non-Christian, who suffer distressing physical, mental or emotional problems.

People who give without being coerced because they give out of love for the Lord and the people, have the gift of giving. Many of them will meet the need without hesitation.

The church growth will be stunted if you do not contribute with the gifts that God has given you.

Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
