Fighting Anxiety with the Word of God

Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

We should take charge of our thought life so that we can keep the peace in our mind. We can have this perfect peace (which is different to the peace from the world) when we stay focused on God by trusting Him rather than being affected by our circumstances. Worship helps us to keep our mind on God and reminds us of His greatness.

We can determine what our brain thinks about. Rubbish in, rubbish out. STOP the devil from inflicting fear through our thought life. Guard your thoughts and close the door to the devil.

A prayer when you are anxious:
I am a child of the living God and is deeply loved by the Heavenly Father. God is interested in my life because my name is written in the Book of Life and He has inscribed me on the palms of His hands. Since I am hidden in Christ therefore I have the imputed righteousness of God. God’s eyes and ears are on me and is listening to my prayer. God’s grace is available to sustain me during the times when I am weak. I have cast all my anxieties on Him and He cares for me. The Bible says that though I am hard-pressed on every side, I will not be crushed because of His grace; when I feel perplexed, but I will not be in despair; He will guide me, I might be persecuted, but I am not forsaken because He will never leave me; and if I feel struck down, I will not be destroyed (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). God’s intrinsic and inherent power is working within me to give me the ability, the strength, the wisdom, the might, and the capability to deal with the current situation. God’s grace is sufficient for me because His strength is fully manifested in my weakness. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. His grace and strength are like the “cushioning effect” between me and the hard place. God has a good plan for my life. His will in heaven be done on earth for me. I am convinced that His heavenly plan is good and perfect because there is nothing bad nor evil in heaven. James 1:17 (NKJV) says that “Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. He is the God of the how much more, since we love our children and have good plans for them then how much more has God good plans and intent for me (Matthew 7:11). Proverbs 3:5-6 says to trust the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding but in all my ways acknowledge Him and He will make my path straight. I will trust the Lord and place my life in His hands. I am in good hands. God’s hand. 2 Timothy 1:7 says that God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, of love and of a sound mind. Therefore, I can think clearly and my thoughts are crystalized. Fear and anxiety do not belong to me but a sound and balanced mind is mine. The Holy Spirit is my teacher, comforter and helper, therefore He is able to teach me in every situation. He will lead and guide me to know what to do as I seek the face of the Lord. I choose to anchor my faith in the Word that God has given to me because Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) says that “…faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Therefore, I am not moved by what I see, feel and experience but my faith is anchored in the Word. The Word of God gives substance to my faith.
