Faith in His Word
Mark 4:15. And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Satan is aware that there is tremendous power in the seed of the Word of God. He knows that the moment the seed of the Word of God is able to take root in the lives of those who believe, something will take place in their hearts. He knows that the Word of God produces faith, brings peace, hope, joy and allows them to live victoriously and have an abundant life in Christ.
Hence, he acts swiftly to take the seed away so that it will not take root. He knows that the seed of the gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to save! For those seeds that fell on the wayside, he stole the seed immediately so that the person would not have a chance to respond to receive Christ or allow the heart to digest on the truth!
Since the seed is the Word as revealed by Jesus, this truth will work for us daily whenever we listen to the Word of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. It will not be a onetime experience when we listen to the gospel but faith will continue to grow and arise when we listen to it continuously until it becomes a part of us!
Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
This is the power of the faith that is the size of a mustard seed. Therefore, the devil will attempt with all his might to steal the Word from our hearts. The devil destroys and disrupts the lives of both the righteous and the sinners. This is the reason why we need the Word even more because it helps us to put on the full armor of God!
We belong to the Kingdom of God and abundant life begins the moment we receive the gospel into our hearts. We begin to operate in faith once we are born again because it takes faith to be saved and believe that heaven is true.
There will always be a struggle between what we believe and what our natural senses tell us. Hence, the Word is the anchor for our soul! We need to stand firmly upon His word and operate in faith that God is the King of this earth and heaven!
Faith is having total trust in what He says. It takes faith to believe that one day the kingdoms of this world will have become the kingdoms of our Lord, and He shall reign forever and ever! In the meantime, we need to have faith to fight against the devil’s way when he persecutes us and puts all kinds of trials and tribulation in our lives just to steal our faith or shift our focus away from God.
Our faith in God is established through our conviction of what the Word of God says. The Word of God gives substance to what we believe. Faith looks into the supernatural believing that what has been promised to us is available now! Faith believes in the unseen and waits for it to be manifested in the natural. Faith stands on the Word and waits patiently for the promise to come to pass in our lives.
Let our hearts and minds be filled with the Word of God so that faith will continue to grow within us! This will keep our eyes focus on Jesus in the midst of persecution and tribulations because heaven and earth will pass away but His Word will endure forever!
