Everything Begins With Faith

Everything begins with faith.

It starts with faith in God. This comes from the knowledge of God, a God who loves us unconditionally when we experience the salvation of God. Then, we progress to knowing God through His Word and our daily walk with Him by seeking His face and acting on the truth of His Word.

Romans 10:9-10,17 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.17.So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Christian life will be a walk of faith from the moment we hear the Gospel and respond in faith that Jesus died for our sins and has redeemed us.

It takes faith to believe that you are a new creation in the spirit being.
It takes faith to believe that you have been made righteous and are hidden in Christ.
It takes faith to believe that you will be caught up in the air at the sound of the last trumpet.

God expects us to walk in faith.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Abraham was called God’s friend. He walked with God and had a close relationship with God to the point that God asked, “Can I hide anything from Abraham?”. Wouldn’t you also like to have such a relationship with God as Abraham did?

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who DILIGENTLY seek Him. 8.By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.11. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

When we walk with God, we establish a friendship. When we learn to trust God, we will reveal more of ourselves to Him (eg. our feelings and fears) and the friendship progresses to a deeper level. And when God has spoken to us, He will bring it to pass without our help for God honours His Word.

Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

With faith, we learn about God, to trust and walk with Him, and believe that He honours His Word. Everything begins with faith and without faith, it is impossible to please God.
