Enforce The Victory of Christ
ICS Daily Devotions
Ephesians 1:20-21,2:6 (NKJV) Which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come…and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Christians are seated with Christ in the heavenly realm, beside the Heavenly Father. Our position is seated with Christ far above all principalities, dominion, might, and He has placed the enemies beneath Jesus’ feet! Glory to God! When we are seated with Christ on the right hand of the Heavenly Father, it is a position of victory. Therefore, we are not trying to win when we engage in spiritual warfare because Christ has already defeated the devil. Instead, we are enforcing His victory.
Ephesians 6:10 (Amplified) In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might.
We are to be strong in the Lord and not in ourselves because we cannot wage a spiritual battle with our physical body.
Every Christian must be prepared for conflict, beginning with the understanding that we are seated with Christ. We need to be very secure in God’s love and acceptance and see ourselves in Christ. Otherwise, we won’t know how to fight and stand our ground effectively.
Watchman Nee writes in his book Sit, Walk, Stand: The Process of Christian Maturity, “Only those who sit can stand,” meaning that once we know we are seated in the heavenly places, we can stand before the foe in a position of victory and authority. The devil is not on par with Christ, nor is he above us because we are in Christ.
Ephesians 1:22-23 (NKJV) And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
The devil has been defeated, and his rightful place is beneath the feet of Jesus. We are the body of Christ. Therefore, believers’ position is higher than that of the devil. We are in Christ—part of His body and united with Him, and we are co-heirs with Him! The devil’s place should be beneath the feet of the body of Christ, which means every believer!
The devil has no more power over you; you are no longer in the kingdom of darkness but in the Kingdom of light. You and I should enforce the victory from the position of being seated with Christ in the heavenly places.
