Grace For The Pace
As a Christian, how do we achieve work/life balance, do well at our job and serve God all at the same time?
Here are the simplest answers to some of the most frequently asked questions in this area. What does it mean to honour God at work? Give your best. How can we avoid being pressured into attending pseudo work-related events after hours? Make a stand from the beginning. How do you leave work behind after office hours? Have a proper work/life balance.
Romans 5:2-3 (NKJV) through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance.
“Grace for the pace” is when God gives us a supernatural deposit or endowment of inner strength, gifting, ability, know-how, understanding, knowledge or favour which first leads us to salvation, and then also helps us to stand in victory and to serve God. God’s grace helps us with setting our pace as we lead stressed and overloaded lives. We need God’s grace for the pace.
Grace is God’s free gift to man. It’s amazing that God Almighty would impart His grace unto us and that His grace would be available to supernaturally help us succeed in whatever we face. When we truly receive God’s “grace for the pace”, we receive the ability to function at the pace required of us. Living in His grace is to recognise, receive, and identify our God-given gifts and talents, and to connect them with the God-given seasons and callings of our lives.
Like a glove and a hand, God’s grace and our life work together in a supernatural rhythm. In practical terms, “grace for the pace” is when God equips us to be who He called us to be, whether it be a wife, husband, parent, friend, businessperson or entrepreneur, athlete, builder, engineer, doctor, lawyer, homemaker, manager, chef, clerk, pastor, evangelist, coach, volunteer, banker, baker and the list goes on. If you have grace, life can be like a well-greased machine—you can sense a supernatural flow to it.
God’s grace will be available for us to achieve a work/life balance and to excel in every aspect of it. You will know when to say ‘yes’ and when to say ‘no’. And whatever the challenge is at hand, God wants to give you grace so that you have His supernatural ability to face it. Grace is huge! Can you see how wonderful God’s grace is?
