Practical Wisdom That Is Tailored for You
2 Chronicles 1: 10 -12a (NKJV) Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?” And God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king— wisdom and knowledge are granted to you.”
James 1:5-8(NKJV) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Do you know that the same God who gave King Solomon the wisdom to manage his kingdom is asking us to pray for wisdom to come from Him upon our lives? God is able to give you practical wisdom for your work, family and business.
He promised to give wisdom to us liberally without reproach. He will gladly give it to us!
God is asking us to pray in faith that we will receive wisdom from Him. The wisdom that you will receive will not contradict the Bible. In fact, one aspect of wisdom is applied knowledge of the Bible and the other aspect has to do with how you feel led by the Holy Spirit when He guides you at that moment. The “wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy” James 3:17(NKJV). It is peace-loving, peace-making and peaceable. These are good guides to know that the wisdom is from God because it is not self-seeking.
Isn’t it interesting that it takes faith to believe that we will receive wisdom from God? Yes, faith to receive practical wisdom from God to deal with the challenges that we are facing in our lives. It might be something that is not tried and tested yet. We need to step out in faith to apply it when we receive it by faith from Him. We can only receive this practical wisdom when we are connected to Him through a close relationship with Him. We need to involve God in every aspect of our lives. It is practical wisdom that is tailored to the individual believer.
