Personalise God’s Truths
Luke 6:47-48 (NKJV) “Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.”
The Bible tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Regardless of the heavy blows that inflatables receive, they invariably swing back to their original positions because of their low centers of gravity and heavy base. Likewise, bad reports can throw us off balance and what helps us to bounce back is a firm foundation. Personalising God’s truths and His promises at times like these can help us to keep bouncing back despite repeated challenges.
James 1:17 (NIV) Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
A firm foundation is a good and perfect gift from above that comes from the Father of lights who does not change like shifting shadows. He is a good Heavenly Father, so He cannot be the source of sickness, illness or pain. Therefore, we can choose not to receive or want a sickness, illness or pain in our body, because our body is the temple of God. We want to receive healing from Jesus our Healer—our Jehovah Rapha. Because God has chosen to restore our relationship with Him through the blood of Jesus Christ, we have peace with Him. Jesus is our mediator in heaven, the mediator of a better covenant established on better promises, and He will never leave nor forsake us. Jesus has become a curse for us on the cross of Calvary. Therefore, all the curse of the law, including any generational curses or inherited conditions, stopped at the cross. There is no condemnation for all who are in Christ Jesus because this is how God has chosen to see us despite our weaknesses and imperfection. When we are saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit in our hearts, nothing can separate us from God’s love, now or in the future. Our names are written in the palm of God’s hand and the Book of Life.
Healing is part of Jesus’ ministry and He went about healing all who were oppressed by the devil because God was with Him. Jesus is now interceding for us at the right hand of the Father. Jesus bore our sins on the cross and by His stripes we are healed. We are accepted in the Beloved so we don’t need to strive to earn God’s love; we can rest in His love and abundant grace. This is God’s grace and unmerited favour towards His children.
