A Tale of Chasm Crossed
So, what was the most critical change that happened?
2 Corinthians 5:19-21 (NKJV) that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Once upon a time, all of us― without exception― were lake bound. Lake of Fire, that is, but for the intervention of God in His mercy. Had He not planned His work of salvation through Jesus, we would not be on this blessed route of recalibration to heaven.
The good news of the gospel is God had initiated the plan of salvation while we were yet sinners. Eternal separation from God was our just destiny for the wages of sin is death. But the Scripture revealed to us that God had dealt with the sin issue once and for all by sending His son to be made sin for us on the cross. This was possible because Jesus is the only sinless Person who could have borne all our sins. He was judged on our behalf, made to be a curse for us, made to be the ultimate sacrifice for us. The penalty of sin has been paid by Jesus’ blood. He died for us; but death could not hold Him, and He was the first to be resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit. The chasm had been crossed and we have been redeemed and reconciled with God. We now have the hope of the resurrection too, that we will be raised to life, just like Jesus was.
Sadly, there are still many people whose names are not written in the Book of Life. We must not be ashamed of the gospel but be bold in sharing the gospel so others may know that Jesus is the answer! Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life for those that would make a personal decision to accept Him as Lord and Saviour!
He finished the work of redemption, sat down at the right hand of the Father, and is waiting to receive us home one day.
And we will live happily ever after.
