He Who Does Not Doubt in His Heart
Mark 11:23-24 (NKJV) For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
The 12 disciples were very blessed to be in the presence of Jesus because there wasn’t a day when their minds were not amazed by Jesus’ ministry. He is the God of all possibilities. The question is….do you believe that all things are possible with God? Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 9:26 NKJV) Of course, based on the whole counsel of the word of God, the prerequisite is that it has to be mixed with faith with the absence of doubt, in accordance with God’s will and what is rightfully ours as a child of God.
Jesus is encouraging anyone who has a “mountain” in his way preventing him from having what is rightfully his to speak to it! We need to get out of our comfort zones to speak to the mountain in our lives. It is very unnatural for us to do something like that because it is not something that we are accustomed to. We should believe in the word of God that all things are possible if we have faith.
We will have the opportunity to speak to our “mountain” when we take time to pray in the understanding and in tongues. It is applying whatever we have learnt during the study of the word into our prayer life. God will reveal something to us that might require us to speak to the situation when we are praying in the understanding and in tongues. We should be speaking to the “mountain” that we are facing as adults, but parents will also be able to speak to the “mountain” on behalf of their children. However, we should teach our children to speak to their “mountain” when they come to the age of understanding. Our prayer journey with the Holy Spirit includes intercessory prayers, standing in the gap and the ability to speak to the “mountains” which hinder breakthroughs.
Luke 17:6 (NKJV) So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can SAY to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. (emphasis added)
Speaking to the “mountain” is not an isolated verse, it is further substantiated by Luke 17:6 which Jesus also encourages us to use our faith to speak to a “tree”. Basically, it is referring to speaking to any obstacles, hindrances and challenges that we are facing in life. It doesn’t take a lot of faith since it is compared with a mustard seed. We just need to take God’s word for it that we are able to speak to the challenges that we are facing especially the “mountain or tree” that materializes as a hindrance or obstacle while we are living out our lives for Jesus.
