Make God Your Source

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

One common struggle we face in the aspect of money is the tendency to hold back on giving out of the fear of not having enough, whereas the Bible teaches us to trust and to give. To enter this grace in giving, the first step is to acknowledge that God is the source of our provision.

1 Timothy 6:10 (NKJV) For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

The love of money is the root of all evil, and it has caused even Christians who operate in the world’s values and principles of making money to pierce themselves with many sorrows. The reason why we fail to make God the source of our provision and compromise with the world is due to fearthe fear of losing out, not meeting sales targets or the possibility of the business going under. Fear makes us think that we have no alternatives, but we do, and it is by practising the biblical financial principles and witnessing the faithfulness of God in our lives. When we do that, we will be able to walk away from temptations in the area of money.

So, let’s begin to make God the source of our provision and refuse to compromise with the world or conform to it, and let’s adopt God’s biblical financial principles to provide for us, and trust God to bring favours, opportunities, and ideas into our businesses. The good thing about God is that He is constant and recession-proof. Therefore, if we make God the source and the grace for our lives, we will be able to fulfil His purposes on earth while being good stewards of His money! What the world is not able to provide, God is more than able to, and when God blesses us, He adds no sorrow with it.

Proverbs 10:22 (NKJV) The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow to it.

We must not forget that it is God who can make all grace abound towards us. Grace is an enablement and it is an ease that comes over us. This includes the grace for being alive, grace to cope with the pace of life, and grace for doing what we are called to do. He is the one who gives us all sufficiency in all things to do what He calls us to do, including being a channel of blessing to the people He wants us to bless and minister to.
