Who Are the Spiritually Matured?
Those who are spiritually matured are the ones we witness the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their lives and how they allow themselves to be governed by the Holy Spirit. They walk in the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus and do not allow the law of sin and death to rule in their lives. They live a consecrated and sanctified life. Consecration requires us to lay down our rights to our own lives and to truly desire God to be Lord over us especially in living out His calling for our lives. God is a major part of our decision-making process in a consecrated life. A consecrated life also helps us pray in faith and confidence when we encounter a tribulation, crisis or distressing situation.
1 John 5:14-15(NKJV) Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
The spiritually matured should think like this:
I want to make my life count for the Lord. I would like to walk out His plan and purpose for me, therefore I desire to consecrate my life to Him. I want to walk in His will and be yoked together with Him. When I am yoked with Him, there is no tension between what I want to do and what He wants me to do. I will not be concerned about promotion because promotion comes from the Lord. I will not strife, play politics or be insecure in a competitive environment because God is with me. He will face all kinds of trials and tribulations with me when I live a consecrated and sanctified life. I have no fear because perfect love casts out all fear. He will definitely journey with me because nothing is able to separate me from His love. I just need to deal with my flesh. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live for myself but for Him who died for me (Galatians 2:20). I have chosen to live for Christ, therefore I will be the salt and light for Him in this world. There are things that others live for but that is not for me. My life should be different from what it used to be after I have received Christ. I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) I have the nature of God in me and His precious promises have given me all things that pertain to this life including the life of godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4). I am no longer a slave to sin since I have been freed from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). I can walk in the law of Spirit of life in Christ Jesus and I can have victory over temptations and sins. I have the fruit of the Holy Spirit in me including self-control to resist temptations (Galatians 5:22). I am able to pick up the cross, deny the flesh and follow Jesus (Matthew 16:24). I will die a thousand deaths to forbid my old self to dictate my current life in Christ. I will choose to walk in the Spirit and not gratify the desire of the flesh, in doing so I am living a sanctified life. I don’t want to make any major decisions in my life without consulting God or having His blessing. I don’t want to go anywhere without His presence going with me. I choose to live a consecrated and sanctified life for the Lord.
