God Wants Our Souls to Prosper
Relationships are important. There are good and bad relationships that can be either a blessing or torment to our souls. Choosing the wrong kind of soul mate or soul tie to influence and speak into our lives can be giving the devil an avenue to kill, steal and destroy our lives. Ungodly soul ties can be found in business partners, friends, colleagues and they can influence our values, principles and actions. We can make the same mistake of having the wrong kind of soul ties at different stages of our lives, but we need to deal with those relationships or else we will repeat the mistake.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 (NKJV) And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We need to understand that we are a three-part being namely spirit, soul and body. It is with our spirit man that we connect with God but it is with our soul that we connect with the people around us.
The soul of a man is composed of the mind, will and emotions. Our mind comprises our intellect and the ability to know. Our will is the capacity to make decisions, exercise choices and the ability to have self-control. The emotion is the capacity to feel and experience. The soul has desires. The soul is the last frontier where we need to rein in and have self-control in order for us to experience the abundant life that God intends for us. Our soul needs the Word to teach us to align with God’s will.
3 John 1: 2 (NKJV) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
God wants our souls to prosper! We should experience peace, love and joy in relationships, have stable emotions and our minds are at rest.
For those who are in Christ, our minds will experience peace and rest when we know that we are accepted in the beloved and in right standing with God because of the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ. Our emotions should not be on a “roller coaster” because we have found our security in Christ and we are not constantly looking for man’s approval and affirmation based on our social status, achievements and possessions but we value above all how God looks at us. True prosperity does not mean just financial prosperity. There are many wealthy people who are miserable in their souls. Their souls are troubled by their past and present relationships and they have anguish, resentment, unforgiveness and bitterness. True prosperity in one’s life includes having an intimate spiritual life with God and with our souls at rest by having good relationships, and we have healthy bodies.
Do you want your soul to prosper? Do you want to experience the abundant life promised by God? Millions of Christians around the world have found that they can have an abundant life through Christ. They can experience peace, love and joy in their relationships when their souls are prospering. Will you put your trust in Jesus Christ who loves you and wants your soul to prosper?
