Meditating and Praising God
Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
The Apostle Paul said in everything and every circumstance in life, we are to pray and thereafter to meditate. We are to take Paul’s instruction to think of what is true, reverent, noble, just, pure, lovely, lovable, kind, winsome, gracious and praiseworthy.
For example, if we are worried about our finances, we can meditate and praise God for these promises:
Praise God that my God shall supply all my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Praise God that God is my Jehovah Jireh, My provider. Praise God that I do not need to worry about what I will eat and wear because my Heavenly Father knows my needs. Praise God that if He feeds the sparrows and looks after the lilies in the field, then He will also feed and clothe us. Praise God that He is the God of the how much more. He is the Heavenly Father who knows how to give good gifts to His children including businesses and good jobs. I am blessed in my coming in and my going out and whatever I place my hand to do, I am blessed. I am blessed in the city and the village. My kneading bowl is blessed therefore my work is blessed. Praise God that my Father owns the sheep on a thousand hills therefore He has no lack, neither will I live in lack. Praise God that He will open the windows of heaven to pour down such blessing that there will not be enough room to contain it as I tithe faithfully and obediently (Malachi 3:10). Praise God that He will multiply the seed that I have sown through my freewill offerings (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
For those who are single, we can meditate on the promise of a spouse:
Praise the Lord that God had created Adam and Eve. God has instituted marriage before work. God’s intent was for Adam to have a partner and not to be lonely, therefore God will also have a person for my life. If God has a good plan for me, then it will also include a godly spouse for me. I do not have the gift of celibacy so God definitely has a good plan for my marriage. Since God created all nationalities and all of us are beautifully and wonderfully made, I am open to all races, colors and nationalities regardless of their educational and family backgrounds. May God’s will be done in my life on earth as it is in heaven.
Praise God that He has heard our prayers and He will answer us. He will provide a way out and deliver us. Praise God that He is the God of all flesh and there is absolutely nothing too difficult for Him!!! Praise God that when we have favor with God, then we will also have favor with men.
