Unwavering Faith

Faith might look silly in the face of glaring facts and figures because faith has to be anchored in God’s abilities and promises.

We are too used to looking at the circumstances, but we need to renew our minds to allow ourselves to look at the situation with the eyes of faith in God. Only when we focus on God and His Word then will we be on top of our situation. Faith in God is believing solely on what the Word says rather than what we are seeing and experiencing. Be mentally prepared that our faith will be ridiculed by men, even by those close to us.

Jesus’ faith in the Father was ridiculed by men when He came to Jairus’ house to heal his daughter.

Matthew 9:24-25 (NKJV) He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

You need to choose to be surrounded by like-minded men and women of faith if you ever want to see your situation turn around! This is important because the fight of faith will always be a process after you have said amen in prayer. The full manifestation of the breakthrough may take months or even years!

1 Samuel 17:28-29,33 Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”… And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”

David was attacked by his own brother. David was a responsible shepherd, but he left the sheep because his father had asked him to bring food to his brothers at the camp. David did the right thing despite the discouraging insults and fearful threats. Only God’s opinion mattered to David. Likewise, we should not be moved by what we see, hear and experience because the circumstances will change. God is AT WORK even when we do not see it!

Sometimes, having faith in God might be mistaken as pride but we need to be fully convinced of what we believe. Of course, we must not be foolish or presumptuous but base our faith in the Word of the covenant and the character of God. It is better to have a Rhema word from God spoken to us before moving out in faith.

1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV) Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

A younger person can have a stronger faith than an older person. Faith arises when we know God, His character and His Word of the covenant. Having faith in God has nothing to age however, as we grow older, we should also grow in our faith because we have walked with God and experienced that the Lord is good.
