Bring Hope to a Hopeless World
Luke 16:26-31 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’ “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”
There is no point learning how to evangelize if we don’t have the heart and the desire to do so. First, we need to believe that hell is real. It is a place where the spirit and the soul will be tormented forever, where people will remember everything they have done and regret that they did not receive Jesus when they had the opportunity to do so. Like the rich man in the passage, they will also be crying out for their loved ones to repent and choose not to come to the place of torment, but to no avail.
It is possible to live without water and air temporarily, but it is terrible to live life without hope and without God. Have you ever gotten lost on a foreign land? After a while, your mind begins to run and all kinds of thoughts come in because of the uncertainty that you face. Many people are gripped by the fear of death when they are on their death beds, because they are not sure where are they going, nor do they have the confidence to face God. Deep down in their hearts, they are crying out for a solution and a way out of their misery, but unfortunately, not everyone is shown or introduced to the good news.
However, praise be to God that He has raised us up to be a bearer of His Gospel, which is the good news, so that many will have the opportunity to hear and to receive it. God has raised you up to intercede for those heading for eternal destruction so that they can be a part of His kingdom.
