Do Not Be Ashamed of the Gospel
Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
When we preach the Gospel, we shouldn’t be dismayed, sad or feel rejected when we get a negative reaction from people, because there is power in the Word to cut through the soul, and we are not the ones who are attacked but the Word.
Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
We also need to know that the Word will accomplish, and it will even continue to work even after we are gone. Understanding this will give us more confidence in preaching the Gospel because we know it is effective.
Isaiah 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Also, the Gospel will create faith because the Bible says we gain faith by listening to the Word of God.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Furthermore, God Himself will confirm the Word with signs and wonders, such as healing and supernatural conviction.
Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Lastly, we are called to speak the Word, but we are not called to speak about the Word, so we should bring out the Word in a fresh way. If the Word is inside of us in a strong way, it will come out strongly. Know that it is the Word that brings results, so even if we are telling our testimony, we should use the Word as much as possible, because the Word will produce a harvest.
Every time a person hears the Gospel, God records it as a chance to be saved. We are responsible to share the Gospel, but we are free from guilt, because we are not responsible for seeing that people enter into the kingdom. Our job is just to plant the seed, and God will cause it to grow.
