Witness for Christ

We are living in the most exciting time in the history of the Church, and there is nowhere in the Bible that can compare with the tremendous privilege that we are having in this time.

Indeed, it is a great blessing to know that all of us can talk to God and for Him to talk to us. The moment we receive Christ into our lives, God lives in us. He loves to commune with us. He is our companion, our teacher and our comforter. We are His beloved children and partners in the ministry. He speaks to us without restriction not only about ministry work but also our personal life and work. He is interested in all aspects of our lives.

We saw in Jesus’ life, the compassion of God that goes out to the lost; a God who will leave the 99 in search for the one lost sheep! Jesus had compassion for the hungry, the tired, the sick, the oppressed, the possessed, and the great sea of humanity that is facing eternal separation from God. Before Jesus went to the cross, he sent out His 12 disciples to the villages, then 70 out in twos, and finally just before His ascension to heaven, he sent out the 120 and the rest of us! Why? Because the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few! We are to be witnesses to our communities, neighbors, loved ones and in our own countries.

Acts 1:8 (NKJV) But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Jesus promised the power, and with the power comes the responsibility to be a witness for God. We can be a witness in sharing the Gospel, a testimony of how God has led us in our work and our family, and how God has answered our prayers. All these are only possible if we have a personal relationship with God. Through answered prayer, we know His love, His divine intervention, His divine appointment, His healing, His provision, His peace and His life.

We need time to listen to God’s heart, passion, love, concern and commandments. There are still many people today who have not totally surrendered their lives to God because they are still running around doing what they like rather than what is right. This reflects our priority in life.

Let us sort out our priorities in life. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
