Powerful Prayers

Corporate prayer produces powerful results. It not only changes the life of one individual, it affects entire groups of people. It can also affect the whole church, city, state or even a nation. It creates an open heaven where there is no opposition in the spirit realm, clears the way for God to move freely and allows us to access the power of God.

To attain effective intercession prayer, we must have unity amid the group.

Philippians 2:1-6 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,

When we are in one accord, it does not leave any room for the devil to attack. Our objective is have the same love, to be in agreement and to be of one mind. The devil will try to sow discord and discontent among the people. Therefore, we must not give in to those negative thoughts and talks. We should choose to focus on the good and positive, and celebrate successes and breakthroughs. It is important that we die to our flesh and not to allow our selfish ambition or vain conceit in the midst, as these negative emotions and motivations originate from our insecurity.

Acts 4:31-32 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

In order to achieve this unity, we need to let love be the driving force behind corporate prayer. We can begin by putting our differences aside and making time to pray for each other during challenging life moments. The love that fuels prayer for others is not just an emotion; it is an action. We have to yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, allow the love of God to flow from our hearts and pray from our hearts.

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
