Operating in the Gifts

There are 25 gifts mentioned in the Bible and we are to faithfully operate in the gifts that God has given us. We worship a supernatural God , therefore tapping into the spiritual gifts and operating in it to be a blessing to the people in and outside the church should be normal.

If we are to shy away then the Holy Spirit will not be able to minister to those whom He wants to bless. He wants to use us as a conduit for His power to flow to the people whom He loves and has compassion for.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the doorway into the supernatural. It helps us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and have a clear understanding of the gifts.

Spiritual gifts are to be spiritually discerned because the natural man does not understand spiritual matters.

We should embrace these gifts that God has placed in the church in order for the church to be strong.

The nine gifts of the Holy Spirit namely the power gift of faith, gift of healings, the working of miracles, the revelation gift of word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, the discerning of spirits, the oral gifts of tongues, the gift of interpretation of tongues and the gift of prophecy.

We should be faithful in using the gifts and be a channel of blessing to the people around us.

2 Tim 1:6-7 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The Apostle Paul encouraged young Timothy not to be timid or fearful in using the gift that had been given to him but to use it faithfully. Timothy probably had the gift of an evangelist but he hadn’t been using it faithfully. It had been dormant therefore Paul asked him to stir it up and practice it!

Mark 16:17-20 17 And these signs will follow those WHO BELIEVE: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” 19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.
