Healing Is Our Inheritance as God’s Children
God had all of us in mind when He planned the work of salvation although He had to choose the nation of Israel to bring in the Messiah. We, the Gentiles are also justified by faith in Jesus Christ and have inherited the promise to Abraham. The moment we received Christ into our lives, we have the Holy Spirit living in us. The Holy Spirit bears witness in our spirit that we are the children of God.
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
What is our heritage as a child of God?
There is a certain boldness that we need to have when it comes to things or inheritance that belong to us as children of God. We know that we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. It is a privileged position as a child of God and we should not be afraid or ashamed of partaking of those things that are rightfully ours!
Healing is clearly a promise for the child to God to claim.
During His ministry years, we saw Jesus healing all the sick people who came to Him and He healed them regardless of whether they were Jews or Gentiles. Jesus is the image of the Father and He only does what He sees the Father doing. In the Old Testament, we have seen how God has healed the Israelites on numerous occasions when they were in the desert.
Exod 15:26 And said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.
Num 21:9 So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
God always heals the people when they repent from their sins and their wicked ways because He is Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals them.
In the new covenant, Jesus delivered both salvation and healing. Jesus did not die just for our sins. He also died for the healing of our sicknesses. Jesus has taken our infirmities and bore our sicknesses on the cross. You can rightly claim your healing as your inheritance. It is yours because you are a child of God.
