We Can Never Be Too Zealous for God

2 Cor 5:13-15 If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Every believer of Jesus Christ has been entrusted with the message and the ministry of reconciliation. The love of God compels us to bring the good news to those who have yet to call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. This is the very purpose for your life while you are on earth.

For those with secular jobs, you have an important message to share! The skills given to you is just a means for you to be in the office. Your main purpose is to be an ambassador of Christ and to be found faithful in sharing with those who have been placed around you.

To some, it might sound ridiculous to take the preaching of the Gospel so seriously, but this is the kind of perspective we should have if we are serious about living for the Lord. When work is worship, it involves doing our best at work and taking the opportunity to share the good news when our spirit of excellence opens a door for us just as it did for Daniel in the Old Testament.

The Apostle Paul said, ‘If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you”’. It might seem as though we are too zealous for our faith or out of our mind to share the Gospel with our colleagues, but we will do it because we know the consequences of someone leaving this earth without God. Therefore, the urgency, seizing the opportunity to share and to pray for others whenever we are led to do it might be misunderstood by our peers, colleagues and friends, but it should not put us off.

Evangelism should be part of the lifestyle of every Christian, because we cannot claim to be close to the Lord without catching His passion, understanding His love for the lost and allowing His compelling love for people to flow through our hearts.
