We Are an Ambassador for Christ

2 Cor 5:14,19 14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died…19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.
One of the questions that we will be asked when Jesus comes back is whether we have been faithful in being His ambassador—whether we have shared the Gospel with the people where we have been placed, as that is something very close to the heart of God.

Just as it was revealed in the Gospel that Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost, he had the urgency to visit towns and villages to preach the Gospel to them. He gave us a few parables whereby He taught us the importance of one soul in the sight of God. He will leave the 99 sheep to look for the one sheep that has gone missing—this is the love of God! Everyone regardless of their race, nationality, colour, background or class matters to God.

Jesus’ last commandment before He ascended to heaven was that all of us should go into all the world to preach the Gospel and make disciples. Therefore, this Scripture reveals to us that the love of Christ compels us to go forth, be responsible to the work of the ministry of reconciliation by sharing with the lost the message of reconciliation. This is the very purpose that gives meaning to our work. We need to have a paradigm shift that we are placed in a certain company and position for a specific purpose. It gives added meaning to your work even though it might be miserable at times, and that’s the very reason God put you there to make a difference.

We also need to make known to unbelievers that God is full of grace and mercy. God reconciled the world to Himself through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Nobody will be able to stand right before Him if He were to hold us accountable for our sins. He knows that sinners will sin against Him because of the sin nature in us. What condemns a sinner into eternal condemnation is not their sin, but the refusal to accept the grace of God as revealed through the Gospel.

As we are all ambassadors for Christ who are entrusted with the ministry and word of reconciliation, let’s begin to make evangelism a part of our lifestyle!
