Sowing Your Finances

Sowing Your Finances

As Christians, we need to practise the principle of sowing and reaping which is found all over the Bible. God has entrusted us with our finances, and we are a channel of God’s blessing and a steward of His money. As such, we have to make wise choices in how we sow our finances so that we can be entrusted with more from God to continue doing good works in our Christian service.

Galatians 6:7-8,10 7.Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap. For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.  10 So then, while we [as individual believers] have the opportunity, let us do good to all people [not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being], and especially [be a blessing] to those of the household of faith (born-again believers).

For example, ICS has always been practising sowing and trusting God to provide in due season. One of the areas ICS has sown financially was in the Aliyah project to help the Jews from poorer countries return to Israel. God will bless those who bless His people. It is a choice ICS has made and we believe that God will provide for us as we are a channel of God’s blessings to others.

Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Another area ICS has chosen to bless others financially each year through the Golf Charity, is in the lives of unbelievers in this city who are in dire need of financial assistance. For this, ICS was awarded the Shanghai Charity Star and the Red Cross awards at the municipal level. ICS practices the sowing and reaping principle, and this is one of the reasons why ICS has been supplied abundantly each year because we choose to be a channel of God’s blessing.

Our faith is in God and not in the economy or people, to continue providing abundantly each year as we continue to sow in good works with our finances. If we are faithful in sowing what He has already entrusted to us, then He will multiply and entrust us with more so that we can increase the fruit of our righteousness.
