Biblical Healing
We must know the will of God in order to believe. We also need to know the will of God because only by asking according to God’s will, will we receive it.
John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me and to finish His work.
Jesus was so clear about the will of God that He does not do anything of Himself and does not seek His own will.
John 5:19 The Son can do nothing of Himself but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
John 6:38 For I came from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent me.
There are 3 main purpose for Jesus’ first coming
- To reveal the character of God
- To reveal the will of God
- To destroy the work of the devil.
1 John 3:8 For this purpose, the Son of God was manisfested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
We can know what God’s will and what the devil’s will is by looking at Jesus. If Jesus destroyed sickness, then sickness is of the devil and Jesus never switches places with the devil to be “mean for a day.” In fact, you cannot find one time when Jesus even hesitated to heal when someone came to Him wanting healing.
Matthew 8:2,3 And behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him saying, Lord if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth His hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Jesus is not only answering this man, but rather the cry of all humanity. Jesus is willing to heal! In fact, Jesus was so willing to heal that he gathered help.
Matthew 10:1 He called his twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
Salvation and physical healing often go hand in hand in scriptures.
Psalm 103:1-3 Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.
Healing is the right to the children of God. It is purchased by Jesus as inheritance in the family. We do not have to beg but we can stand in faith for healing.
