Speak, Meditate and Observe the Word of God
All of us want to be successful in life. We would like to have peace, joy and the fullness of life. The Word of God has the secret to a fruitful, meaningful and an abundant life. It tells us God’s way of success and how to walk a victorious life.
Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe TO DO ACCORDING TO ALL THAT IS WRITTEN IN IT. FOR THEN you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Firstly, don’t let the Word depart from your mouth. Speak the Word to yourself!
Ephesians 5:19-20 Speaking to yourselves in psalms (the Word) and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all the things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It requires effort to literally take the Word and speak it out to yourself and to others. The Word of God strengthens and edifies oneself. Lifting your voice to give thanks to God for everything takes effort because it is not normal/common for us to do so. It is a conscious decision! Praising Him with spiritual songs and hymns, with thanksgiving is a voice of victory! This is acting on the Word.
King David was a man who spent quality time meditating and thinking about God. In the midst of his trials and tribulations, he relied on God’s goodness, faithfulness and mercies. He knew God is gracious, righteous and merciful who would deliver him from his situations. Out of the conviction of his own heart, he spoke.
2 Cor 4:13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”
With this same spirit of faith, we also need to believe and therefore speak.
Secondly, meditate on God’s Word day and night. Meditating and confessing the Word are like cows chewing their cud. They ruminate and regurgitate a couple of times before fully digesting their cud. We have to continuously meditate (ruminating like the cows) on the Word until we digest it. When the Word becomes a part of us, it will naturally come forth in times of trials and tribulations. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks!
Finally, we have to observe to do according to ALL that is written in the Word. If we do this, then we make our way prosperous and we will have good success.
Speak and meditate on the Word, and observe to do all that is written in it so that we will have God’s way of success and victory in our lives.
