The Pursuit Of Christ

Main Passage: Philippians 3:8–14
- Stop Trusting in What Cannot Save (vv. 8–9a)
Paul counted his heritage, credentials, and achievements as loss compared to knowing Christ.
What are some “good things” in your life (career, family background, success, etc.) that could quietly compete with Christ for your trust and identity? How can we keep these in their proper place? - Receive the Righteousness Only Christ Can Give (vv. 9b–11)
Paul reminds us that righteousness is not earned but received through faith.
Why do you think it’s so hard for people, even Christians, to stop trying to prove themselves before God and others? What would it look like in your daily life to rest fully in Christ’s righteousness? - Don’t Be Complacent. Keep Growing (vv. 12–13)
Paul says he has not “arrived” and continues to press forward.
In what areas of your spiritual walk do you see a temptation to become complacent? What practical step can you take this week to keep growing in Christ? - Don’t Look Back. Fix Your Eyes on Christ (v. 14)
Paul presses forward toward the heavenly prize, refusing to be defined by past failures or successes.
How do you usually respond to past failures or past successes, do they hold you back or motivate you to move forward? How can fixing your eyes on Christ free you from both regret and complacency?
