The Yoke Destroying Power from God

The Yoke Destroying Power from God
ICS Daily Devotions

Isaiah 10:27 (NKJV) It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

The anointing is the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It is His empowerment and enablement for the callings in our lives and the roles we are given. It is the yoke-destroying, burden-removing power of God. Therefore, these are what we should expect when the presence of God or the anointing is operating in and through an individual: people being saved as we share the gospel; the sick and oppressed being set free; those under demonic bondage being delivered because of the anointing and the name of Jesus; demons manifesting and people being delivered in the presence of God.

If we fail to see any of these happening, it is usually because we are too dependent on ourselves, our intellect and the preaching of philosophy in church. If everything is stringently regulated and communicated intellectually, no one would notice if the Holy Spirit were absent in a church service. Therefore, no church should exclude the teaching of the Holy Spirit, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, and moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, because the anointing is the work of the Holy Spirit given to us in the specific callings in our lives. The power of the Holy Spirit needs to be restored in the church. The anointing helps us solve problems and gives us ease to do things.

Acts 10:38 (NKJV) how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Why did Jesus ask the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit? Because they needed to be baptised with the Holy Spirit. After the Holy Spirit came upon the 120 disciples in the Upper Room, they went out boldly to do the work of the ministry. If Jesus needed to be anointed with the Holy Spirit, despite being both the Son of Man and God, and He specifically told the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit, how much more do we need the empowering and anointing of the Holy Spirit to serve Him well?

The Holy Spirit will teach and guide us in everything that He leads us to do. This unction to function through the anointing will also give us the grace or inner strength to shoulder our workload. We will have the grace to juggle the different roles in life with ease because this ability is from God.
