Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭(AMP) For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. ‬‬

Each of us is the workmanship of God, skilfully and artfully made. He does not create anything substandard; we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us with a purpose: to worship Him through what we do. What we are called to do is an act of worship. It is not just doing what we want or like to do without consulting Him, but doing exactly what He has created or called us to do while we live our lives for Him.

When living out God’s calling, we must walk by faith. If we walk by faith regarding how God looks at us in His calling for our lives, we are confident that we will do well. He rewards those who diligently seek Him. The faith walk establishes our relationship with God because we involve God in every aspect of our lives. We share everything about our lives with Him, and He guides us on our journey. We get to know God through this faith journey because we have communicated our plans, sought His wisdom, heard His direction, and acted on His instructions—that’s faith. When we live out His calling, we are in absolute partnership with God. We have a firm footing because we know that we are walking in His perfect will, and we have surrendered to doing what He wants us to.

Hebrews 6:1 (NKJV) Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God.

Faith in God is the most foundational teaching of the Bible, but many people struggle to live by faith. Mental assent faith differs vastly from heart faith. Mental assent faith believes and agrees with everything that is theologically correct about faith but struggles to fully trust in God, so a person fails in the walk of faith. In contrast, heart faith comes with a deep conviction of God’s faithfulness and the tenacity to act on that conviction even in complex and challenging times. It is not influenced by the senses but perceives the results of faith in the spirit.

If we want to bear fruit in our lives, we need to get used to walking by faith, because only faith pleases God. We must not allow doubt and faith in God to coexist. We can quench doubts and unbelief by meditating and listening to God’s Word and His promises so that we can stay in faith before the manifestation of the answered prayer.
